Ca. 11 000 years ago, the Ice Age was a powerful architect moulding the Salpausselkä ridge as a gate to the Finnish Lake District. The basic pillars of the nature in the province of Päijät-Häme are the ridges with their forests and the water systems. At its best these two elements are when meeting in the wonderful nature sight at ridge Pulkkilanharju in the Päijänne National Park.
